Miguel Rodriguez 1925 classical guitar – fine handmade classical guitar with incredibly beautiful sound.

The classical and flamenco guitars of Miguel Rodriguez have been the favorite pick of many leading concert artists, most notably all members of the Romero family. In actuality, when speaking of Miguel Rodriguez, one is really making reference to a family of four guitar builders spanning three generations. This guitar was built by Miguel Rodriguez Beneito around 1925 (at the time he didn’t have the habit to put a date on his labels).

The construction of this guitar is extremly nice. It has a fine spruce top and Cuban mahogany for back and sides. It is lightly built and has a unique construction with lightly arched top and back. The scale length is 650 mm and the nut width 50 mm.

The sound of this Miguel Rodriguez 1925 classical guitar has all the qualities of an high end handmade guitar of the early 20th century in Torres’ style, with the sound resonating off the top, back and sides. It has a loose, dry and penetrating sound with big basses and succulent, fat trebles. The higher registers are incredibly sweet and sensuous. This guitar sings beautifully – it can accommodate virtually any style of music with great charm and elegance.
It is a lively guitar and a lot of fun to play … hard to put it down.

This Miguel Rodriguez 1925 classical guitar has been very professionally restored and presents itself in wonderful condition. It is very playable with a low action. It comes with a very good hard case.

These guitars of Miguel Rodriguez Sr., the patriarch of the Rodriguez family rarely appear on the market, so this is an extraordinary find. Instruments from the Rodriguez family were built in every decade of the 20th century and have been played by numerous concert players around the world.
Very desirable for its quality (and quantity) of sound – collector and performer alike will find this to be an exciting instrument to own and play.
