Description
Martin OM-21 Custom 7-String Acoustic Guitar – A Unique Blend of Tradition and Innovation
Experience the exceptional with the Martin OM-21 Custom 7-String Acoustic Guitar, a rare gem made in 2019 . This guitar is far from your typical OM-21, boasting custom factory features such as an Adirondack spruce top with striking grain patterns and a wide neck with a 48mm (1 7/8″) nut width.
The standout feature, however, is the addition of a seventh string, inspired by the collaboration between Martin and Roger McGuinn from The Byrds. This extra string augments the G (third) string with a high octave, delivering the rich, jangly sound characteristic of a 12-string guitar, but without compromising playability. The guitar’s headstock includes an extra banjo tuner, while the bridge has an additional hole and bridge pin, perfectly accommodating this innovative feature.
Crafted with Indian Rosewood back and sides, the Martin OM-21 Custom 7-String Acoustic Guitar offers a full-bodied sound with remarkable depth and resonance. The tortoise bindings, rosewood bridge, and rosewood fretboard add to its aesthetic appeal and tonal richness. With a scale length of 645mm (25 3/8″) and a string spacing of 61mm (2 3/8″), this guitar provides a comfortable and versatile playing experience.
Equipped with a built-in pickup by Fishman, this guitar is ready for amplified performances, making it an excellent choice for both studio recordings and live gigs. The instrument includes six regular closed-back Martin tuners, ensuring reliable tuning stability.
Housed in its original hardshell case, the Martin OM-21 Custom 7-String Acoustic Guitar is a unique instrument that combines Martin’s traditional craftsmanship with innovative design. Whether you’re drawn to its distinctive sound or its rare configuration, this guitar promises to inspire and captivate musicians seeking something truly special.
