Conde Hermanos – Sobrinos de Domingo Esteso 1996 Flamenco Guitar – A truly exceptional instrument with fantastic sound
Conde Hermanos are not just guitar makers; they have arguably shaped flamenco history like no other. The three brothers, Faustino, Julio, and Mariano, initially crafted guitars for Domingo Esteso, the renowned master, and mentor during their formative years.
Following Esteso’s death, the brothers gradually developed their unique style, initially using the label Sobrinos de Domingo Esteso. The early 1960s were challenging times for selling flamenco guitars, but everything changed when the young Paco de Lucía discovered Conde at the end of the 60s and early 70s. Having previously played Ramírez, Paco embraced Conde guitars for their powerful basses and lyrical trebles, setting a new standard for flamenco guitars.
Paco de Lucía’s preference for Conde guitars inspired many, and in vintage TV recordings from the 70s, nearly every emerging guitarist can be seen playing a Conde. Faustino Conde, credited with building the classic Condes, has certainly left a lasting legacy in flamenco history.
