Description
Martin D-18 1953 Acoustic Guitar – undoubtedly one of the most remarkable D-18 guitars we’ve encountered, boasting a sound that is both powerful and dynamic!
As one of the original Dreadnought models, the D-18 has won the affection of musicians since the early 1930s. From Elvis to David Crosby, this guitar has been favored by legendary artists for decades.
Similar to the D-28 but without the rosewood, this D-18 delivers an incredibly warm and resonant tone, setting it apart from many other dreadnoughts. The woods have beautifully aged, contributing to its charming woody sound. It masterfully blends impressive dynamics and volume with the subtle nuances that only a great vintage instrument can provide.
For any vintage guitar enthusiast, this D-18 offers everything you could desire.
This particular Martin D-18 1953 acoustic guitar is expertly set up, featuring low action (had a neck reset) and a straight neck for excellent playability.
The guitar is in great condition overall. It previously had an oversized pickguard that has since been removed (small filled holes are still slightly visible), and it now sports a new bridge and pickguard. The finish, while likely around 40 years old, is not the original.
