Helmut Neubauer was a highly skilled luthier from a long lineage of guitar makers originating in Schönbach (now Luby, Czech Republic). After World War II, the Neubauer family relocated to West Germany, where Helmut honed his craft. Having worked for several years under the renowned Arnold Hoyer in Erlangen, he established his own workshop in Bubenreuth in 1955. His instruments, known for their exquisite craftsmanship and superior tonal quality, are highly regarded by collectors and musicians alike.
This 1972 guitar lute is a testament to Neubauer’s meticulous artistry. It features a 650 mm scale length and a 50 mm nut width, providing a comfortable and responsive playing experience. It has a spruce top and a finely crafted maple body. As with all Neubauer instruments, it is entirely handmade, ensuring the highest level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.
