Description

Gibson J-45 1956 a remarkable vintage piece, showcasing the timeless craftsmanship and legendary tone that has made this model a favorite among musicians for generations.

First introduced in 1942, the Gibson J-45 quickly became one of the most iconic acoustic guitars in the world. It has been played by legends like James Taylor, Bruce Springsteen, and Buddy Holly, shaping countless classic songs. Known for its warm, resonant sound and understated elegance, the J-45 remains a benchmark in acoustic guitar design.

The 1956 J-45 delivers the classic Gibson tone: rich, warm, and responsive. Its solid spruce top produces exceptional clarity and dynamic range, while the mahogany back and sides create a balanced sound with deep bass, smooth mids, and shimmering highs.

Playability is outstanding:

  • Action at the 12th fret: 2.2 mm (low E string) and 1.7 mm (high e string), ensuring a comfortable playing experience free from buzzing.
  • Nut width: 43 mm, making it versatile for both strumming and fingerpicking techniques.
  • Bone saddle: The original adjustable bridge has been replaced with a bone saddle bridge, giving this guitar much more clarity and volume.

The mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard provides a smooth and natural playing experience. The guitar’s iconic sunburst finish, paired with perloid dot inlays and its minimalist headstock, exemplifies the timeless style of the J-45.

This 1956 J-45 is in great vintage condition, with minor wear (2 small repairs) consistent with its age that adds character without affecting its playability. All original components remain intact (save the bridge) preserving its authenticity. The guitar comes with a newer guitar case.

The Gibson J-45 1956 is a rare find and an ideal choice for collectors and musicians seeking the ultimate combination of vintage tone, craftsmanship, and historical significance.
